The Best Morning Now! Smoothie

I make this smoothie each morning (well, almost) for my husband. It is a blend of fiber, good fats, and fruit. He says he has a hard time functioning as well on the days that I don't get up with him to make it. Try this for a week and see if you don't become a morning person!

1/4 cup frozen pineapple- enzymes that aid in digestion. Citrus = immune support
1/4 cup frozen blueberries- vitamin C and other antioxidants. Fiber, low calories
1/4 cup strawberry kefir- probiotics help aid in digestion and restore intestines' natural flora
1/4 cup raw milk- digests easier than homogenized
1/4 cup pomegranate juice- antioxidant powerhouse
1 tbsp whole flaxseeds- healthy fat for building nerves and muscles. Fiber
1 tsp cinnamon- actually aids in regulating blood sugar
1 tsp coconut oil- good saturated fat with many health benefits.
1 tsp instant green tea powder- Antioxidants
1 tsp wheatgrass powder- protects body from free radicals
1/4 of a medium banana- natural sweetness and potassium
Now that I write it out, this seems like a lot of ingredients. I have built this smoothie over the period of about a year. I have been collecting ingredients for optimal health, and putting them all together in a smoothie seemed like the best idea. I experimented by adding different amounts and different types of ingredients. Use what you have on hand at the time. The important thing is to have fresh or frozen fruit, good fats, and other foods that support a healthy body and immune system. If B.T is sick or sluggish, I'l add some citrus fruit. If he feels like he is fighting a cold, I will add an opened Manna-C capsule. Use what you can and what you have.

You are a good wifey!! My husband read this and wants me to start making smoothies. I think I can handle it :) I'm so glad I have friends who research and know about nutrition and the body. I will continue to use your great knowledge! =Stacie
