Homeschool Preschool- Week 4- Letter "E"

Well, it was the letter "E" and the letter "D" as well. Courtney was in Vegas last week and was not able to do the letter "D", so we got to read about Detective Dog this week. That Detective Dog. What a character. I guess you had to be there...

Art:
Krista's kids had a cough, so I tried to improvise an art project to go with my "Eskimo" lesson. Come back soon, Krista! Your projects are so much more creative. I had the kids do a "snow picture", using white chalk to draw on black construction paper. Hmm. In my defense, I only had 20 minutes to come up with something and I had to use the supplies I could find around my house.

Most of the children drew snow, some creative ones drew igloos. Jackson drew a giant "shoot gun".

Recess!

Rhythm:
Laura helped us sing our song from last week, "The Lord's Army". I loved learning this song, and it pairs well with physical marching.

I may never march in the infantry,
Ride in the cavalry,
Shoot the artillery

And I may never fly o'er the enemy,
But I'm in the Lord's Army
Yes Sir!

Language Arts:
Our theme was "Eskimo". We learned about traditional Eskimo clothing, housing, and modes of transportation.

Snack/ Bible Time:
Laura gave us our "E" verse: "Even a child is know by His deeds"- Prov. 20:11. Dear Laura stressed to us mommies, especially, that the rest of the verse is much more important- "whether his works be pure and right". The intentions of the heart are much more important than the outward actions, especially while training children. If my child's actions say obedience, but his attitude is saying whatever, Mom, then I have not reached his heart.

Math:
Forgive me, please. I am 6 months pregnant. I am having trouble positioning my pillows in any way that is conducive to a restful night's sleep. I have completely forgotten what we did for math. Improvise!
